We're looking for volunteers to represent Shuttlecats at this year's Midsumma Carnival! Each year, we run a stall in the Sports Precinct to celebrate our queer community and get the word out about our friendly badminton group! Tell us before Thu 18 Jan if you can help out! 🙏  We're looking for people to drop in for an hour or two between 10:30am - 5:30pm on Sunday 21st Jan. This may involve setting up or packing down the stall, running the badminton-themed minigame, and talking to interested Carnival-goers about what makes Shuttlecats so special. It's a low-pressure event to celebrate our community. Plus, we'll have cool drinks and treats for volunteers at the stall! 🍧   🏳️‍🌈 What is Midsumma Carnival? Midsumma Carnival is an iconic outdoor celebration in the LGBTIQA+ annual calendar. The Carnival is a key event in Midsumma Festival, a three-week long celebration of queer arts and culture, and includes the Pride March in February. The Carnival itself is a huge single-day event, running from 11am until 10pm in Alexandra Gardens in Melbourne’s CBD. It's free to the public, and full of dazzling acts, music, and food and festivities to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community.
