Shuttlecats Code of Conduct (2026)
The goal of Shuttlecats as a sporting organisation is to create a welcoming, respectful, uplifting and, most importantly, safe environment for everyone. Our code of conduct outlines the following policies, guidelines and consequences so all participants have a complete understanding of the expectations of engagement with the Shuttlecats Badminton club.
To help us maintain a space where all attendees feel safe, valued and included, we ask that everyone adheres to the code.
By purchasing an event ticket, an attendee has accepted the terms and understood this code of conduct and its policies. Attendees are to uphold the code before and after, and during sessions and events.

Social Media Policy
The Shuttlecats will not inhibit the freedom of personal expression or respectfully shared opinions. However, if a member is seen to make an online statement or post that is generally considered to be homophobic/transphobic/sexist/racist/ableist or seeks to harass, discriminate and/or vilify for any reason; the safe spaces the club strives to build are threatened and this may constitute a breach of Shuttlecats Code of Conduct.
For Federal matters please refer to Section 474.17 of the Criminal Code Act 1995 (with regard to using a carriage service to harass) and the Racial Discrimination Act 1975.
Disciplinary Action
If the Committee is of the opinion that a member has refused or neglected to comply with the Code of Conduct, the Committee may resolve to expel a member or suspend their membership. The Committee shall evaluate the evidence, while considering the specific conditions under which the events occurred. The member may appeal the decision made by the Committee in writing within 48 hours of the expulsion.
